The Club will meet once or twice a month on a Saturday or a Sunday to hold musters (training days). Muster dates may be subject to change due to events beyond the control of the Club. Musters are held from February through until November. Musters generally commence around 9.00am in the cooler months of the year and during the hottest times of the year, it is likely musters will be held in the afternoons to avoid riding in the heat of the day. Finishing time of musters is open based on the numbers of members attending and the activities planned.
During musters we have competent Instructors give riding tuition and training in various equine disciplines and teach horsemanship in aspects of horse care.
Parents are reminded that any riders under 16 years of age, MUST remain on the Club grounds or nominate another responsible adult to be responsible for their child throughout the muster. As a courtesy, if any rider needs to leave a group for any reason, they should seek permission from the Instructor of their group. Muster points will only be allocated should a member remain for the duration of the Muster or activity organised on the day.
Wet Musters:
The Club tries to hold west muster days (where necessary due to weather) which consists of riders attending musters (unmounted) and information may be presented to riders via a lecture or through horsemanship activities. This time is used for members wanting to complete competency qualifications required.
The Chief Instructor or nominated Instructor will normally made a decision on reports provided about the condition of the Clubgrounds prior to 7.30am on the morning of the muster. The Chief Instructor or other nominated Instructor or Committee members will then make contact with members generally via a text message/Facebook notice to advise of any postponements, cancellations or Wet Muster activities.
